A magnetic reed switch encased in an ABS plastic shell, commonly used to detect when a door, window, or drawer is opened. The switch half contains a normally-open reed contact, and the other half is a magnet. When the magnet is within 13 mm (0.5"), the reed switch closes, completing the circuit.
