A digital potentiometer that lets you control a voltage divider with serial signals from your microcontroller. Wire it up like a standard potentiometer, then use digital commands to adjust the wiper position — no mechanical knob required.

Because the wiper is software-controlled, you're not locked into a fixed sweep profile. Write your code to produce linear, logarithmic, or any custom response curve. Digital potentiometers also pair well with rotary encoders, allowing you to consolidate large banks of pots into a single smart rotary control.

Key Features

  • 10 kΩ Resistance – Standard value for a wide range of applications
  • Serial Interface – Control wiper position digitally from any microcontroller
  • Custom Sweep Profiles – Linear, logarithmic, or any curve you program
  • No Mechanical Wear – Solid-state design for long-term reliability

Ideal For

  • Digitally controlled audio volume and tone
  • Adjustable LED brightness and lighting control
  • Sensor calibration and tuning
  • Replacing mechanical potentiometers in automated systems

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
potentiometer
A variable resistor usually turned with a knob or shaft to create an adjustable electrical signal. It is often used for inputs such as volume, brightness or position, so it helps beginners learn how a microcontroller reads changing values.
