A simple analogue water sensor that detects the presence and relative level of water on its surface. The sensor outputs a higher analogue value as more water covers the sensing traces, making it useful as a basic water level indicator or leak detector. Connects with just three wires: power, ground, and analogue output.
Specifications
- Output – Analogue (proportional to water level)
- Operating Voltage – 3–5V DC
- Current – >20 mA
- Operating Temperature – 10°C to 30°C
- Operating Humidity – 10–90% (non-condensing)
- Dimensions – 62 × 20 × 8 mm
Ideal For
- Water level monitoring
- Leak detection systems
- Rain sensors
- Arduino and microcontroller projects
Package Contents

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- DC
- DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
- microcontroller
- A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip that runs a stored program and controls connected inputs and outputs such as buttons, sensors, displays and communication interfaces. In a device built around one, it is the part that executes the code and coordinates the device's behaviour.
