The IS66WVS16M8FBLL-104NLI is an integrated PSRAM memory IC with 128 Mbits of pseudo static RAM, organised as 16 Megabytes words by 8 bits. It uses a self-refresh DRAM array and is built as a dual die stack of two 64Mb die.
This device supports both SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) and QPI (Quad Peripheral Interface), giving it a low signal-count connection for embedded designs. It uses just six signal pins: CLK, CE#, and four SIOs.
Hidden refresh operation is supported, and the part is specified for industrial temperature and Automotive A2-grade temperature use. In-band reset is supported instead of a dedicated RESET# pin, and the minimum transferred data size is 8 bits.

- MFG #: IS66WVS16M8FBLL-104NLI
A handy memory IC for custom embedded hardware that needs external PSRAM over an SPI-style interface.
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- CLK
- CLK is the clock signal that times when SPI data bits are sent and read. A display needs this pin connected correctly so the controller and screen stay in step while data is transferred.
- RAM
- RAM is temporary memory used while a device is running, and its contents are lost when power is removed. A “Run in RAM” mode is useful for testing settings without permanently programming the module, but it may not support every feature.
- SPI
- A fast serial communication bus often used for displays, memory cards, and sensors. It matters because SPI devices need specific pins for clock and data, plus a separate chip-select line for each device.
