If you've got a lot of wire-stripping to do, you may want to try out an automatic stripper/cutter! They are fantastic for stripping and cutting stranded and solid-core 24 or thicker AWG wires and ribbon cables. The tool has both metric (up to ~20mm) and imperial (up to 0.75") measurements on either side, so you get all the precision with the secondary blade below the stripper.
Simply slip the wire into the jaws, then squeeze the handle to get perfect stripped wires every time, with exactly the right length. No more yanking or twisting to strip wires cleanly and quickly!
- Can strip stranded or solid core wire from 24 AWG up to 10 AWG
- Can be dialed for 2 ~ 20mm (0.08" to 0.8") stripped length
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- AWG
- American Wire Gauge is a numbering system for wire thickness, where a lower number means a thicker wire. The AWG rating matters because thicker wire can usually carry more current with less voltage drop and heating.
