Brass heat-set inserts provide strong, reusable threaded connections in 3D-printed and injection-moulded plastic parts. Each insert has a knurled outer surface that grips the surrounding plastic when pressed in with a heated soldering iron, and an M3 internal thread that accepts standard machine screws.
Using heat-set inserts instead of screwing directly into plastic gives a much stronger joint that can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly without stripping. They're an inexpensive way to add professional-quality fastening points to your enclosures, brackets, and housings.
