Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 is a multi-touch portrait panel for Raspberry Pi, available in 5-inch, 7-inch and 10-inch sizes. It is ideal for interactive projects such as tablets, entertainment systems, kiosks and information dashboards — or simply as a compact monitor for the Raspberry Pi OS desktop.

Only two connections are required: power from the GPIO header, and a ribbon cable to the DSI port. No separate power supply is needed, and Raspberry Pi OS includes the touchscreen drivers and an on-screen keyboard, so you get full functionality without a keyboard or mouse attached.

Choosing a size: the 5-inch and 7-inch panels share the same 720 × 1280 resolution and five-finger capacitive touch, and work with every Raspberry Pi computer that has a DSI connector. The 10-inch steps up to a 1200 × 1920 IPS panel with ten-finger touch.

Please note: the 10-inch model is compatible with Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi Compute Modules only. The 5-inch and 7-inch models work with all Raspberry Pi computers with a DSI port, except the Raspberry Pi Zero line. Cases and enclosures designed for the original Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Display will not fit Touch Display 2. Raspberry Pi board not included.

DSI
DSI stands for Display Serial Interface, a high-speed connection commonly used to send video data from a computer board to a display. It matters because DSI signals are not simple GPIO wires, so the cable, connector, and signal routing need to match the display interface.
GPIO
General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
IPS
IPS is a type of LCD panel that keeps colours and contrast more consistent when viewed from an angle. This matters for small displays that may be mounted in a dashboard, handheld project, or enclosure where the viewer is not always looking straight on.
LCD
LCD stands for liquid crystal display, a screen technology that uses a backlight and liquid crystals to show images or text. It matters because LCD modules usually need a display driver and enough controller pins or a bus interface to send image data.
Multi-touch
Multi-touch means the touchscreen can detect more than one finger contact at the same time. This matters for interfaces that use gestures such as pinch-to-zoom, two-finger scrolling, or on-screen controls used together.
RGB
Short for red, green and blue, the three primary colours of light that are mixed in varying amounts to make a wide range of colours.
