We no longer stock Qwiic GPIO, but here are current alternatives in SparkFun Qwiic Ecosystem.

Qwiic GPIO

Qwiic GPIO

Discontinued

The Qwiic GPIO adds four additional digital I/O pins to your project over I2C using the simple SparkFun Qwiic connector system. Read and write pins just like standard Arduino GPIO — the I2C interface is handled by the library so you can call familiar functions like pinMode and digitalWrite.

This version features easy-to-use latch terminals for tool-free wire connections. With three customisable address jumpers, you can connect up to eight boards on a single I2C bus for a total of 32 additional GPIO pins.

Key Features

  • 4 Additional GPIO Pins – Digital read/write over I2C
  • Qwiic Connector – Plug-and-play, no soldering or voltage translation needed
  • Latch Terminals – Tool-free wire connections, supports multiple wires per terminal
  • Chainable – Up to 8 boards on one bus (32 extra GPIO pins)
  • Default I2C Address – 0x27 (customisable via solder jumpers)
  • Arduino-Style Functions – Familiar pinMode and digitalWrite commands

Ideal For

  • Projects needing just a few more I/O pins
  • Qwiic ecosystem builds
  • Expanding GPIO on pin-limited microcontrollers
  • Quick prototyping with latch terminals

Package Contents

  • 1× Qwiic GPIO board
