A simple breakout board for XBee modules that brings all 20 pins out to standard 0.1″ (2.54 mm) dual-row headers. The 0.5″ spacing between header rows makes it breadboard DIP-friendly for easy prototyping.
Key Features
- All 20 Pins Broken Out – Full access to every XBee pin
- 0.1″ Header Spacing – Standard 2.54 mm pitch for breadboard compatibility
- 0.5″ Row Spacing – DIP-friendly layout spans a standard breadboard
- 2 mm XBee Socket Compatible – Use 2 mm female sockets to avoid soldering the XBee permanently
Specifications
- Model – LBE-A
- Pin Count – 20 (all XBee pins)
- Header Pitch – 0.1″ (2.54 mm)
- Row Spacing – 0.5″ (12.7 mm)
Package Contents
- 1× XBee Breakout Board (PCB only)
Note: This is the PCB only. XBee module, 2 mm sockets (2 required), and 0.1″ headers are sold separately.
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- Headers
- Rows of connector contacts on a fixed pitch (commonly 2.54 mm) used to link a board to a breadboard, jumper wires, or another board. They come as male pin headers and female socket headers; when a module ships with pre-soldered headers it can be used straight away, whereas bare pads require soldering the pins yourself.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
