The Gravity LTR390-UV sensor provides both ambient light and UV sensing with a UV spectral response from 280nm to 430nm. It features high sensitivity, quick response, and strong anti-interference performance.

With a built-in ADC and MCU, the module converts light data to digital output via I2C or UART interface. It supports programmable interrupt thresholds and adjustable gain settings, making it suitable for UV index monitoring, weather experiments, and light detection projects.

Key Features

  • Dual Interface – I2C and UART communication
  • 3.3V & 5V Compatible – Works with a wide range of controllers
  • 13–20 Bit Resolution – Adjustable effective resolution
  • Adjustable Gain – 1, 3, 6, 9, and 18× settings
  • Interrupt Function – Programmable upper and lower thresholds
  • Human Eye Response – ALS spectral response close to human eye sensitivity

Specifications

  • Chip – LTR390-UV-01
  • Operating Voltage – 3.3V to 5V DC
  • Operating Current – ~2.73mA (18-bit, 100ms acquisition)
  • UV Response – 280nm to 430nm
  • ALS Response – 450nm to 700nm
  • Output – Digital (I2C / UART)
  • Dimensions – 32 × 27mm (1.26" × 1.06")

Ideal For

  • UV index monitoring devices
  • Outdoor UV detection
  • Weather station experiments
  • Ambient light sensing

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

ADC
An analogue-to-digital converter reads a changing voltage and turns it into a number the microcontroller can use. It matters when connecting analogue sensors such as light, sound, or variable-resistor sensors.
DC
DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
UART
UART is a simple asynchronous serial interface that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, usually labelled TX and RX, with both ends set to the same baud rate. It is a common way for microcontrollers and other serial devices to exchange data.
