The Gravity Analog pH Sensor/Meter Kit V2 is designed to measure the pH of liquids, indicating acidity or alkalinity on a scale of 0–14. It's commonly used in aquaponics, aquaculture, hydroponics, and environmental water testing. The kit includes a laboratory-grade pH probe, a signal conversion board, calibration buffer solutions, and a Gravity analogue sensor cable — ready to use with Arduino and other microcontrollers.

This V2 version features a wide-voltage onboard regulator (3.3–5.5 V), hardware-filtered output for low signal jitter, and a software library with two-point calibration that automatically identifies pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 standard buffer solutions.

Key Features

  • 3.3–5.5 V Wide Voltage Input – Compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V controllers
  • Hardware-Filtered Output – Low jitter for stable readings
  • Two-Point Auto-Calibration – Software library identifies pH 4.0 and 7.0 buffers automatically
  • Plug-and-Play – Gravity connector and BNC probe connector, no soldering required
  • Measurement Accuracy – ±0.1 pH @ 25 °C

Specifications

Signal Conversion Board (V2)

  • Supply Voltage – 3.3–5.5 V
  • Output Voltage – 0–3.0 V
  • Probe Connector – BNC
  • Signal Connector – PH2.0-3P (Gravity)
  • Accuracy – ±0.1 @ 25 °C
  • Dimensions – 42 × 32 mm

pH Probe

  • Type – Laboratory grade
  • Detection Range – pH 0–14
  • Temperature Range – 5–60 °C
  • Zero Point – pH 7 ±0.5
  • Response Time – <2 min
  • Internal Resistance – <250 MΩ
  • Probe Life – >6 months (depending on usage frequency)
  • Cable Length – 1 m

Ideal For

  • Aquaponics and hydroponics monitoring
  • Aquaculture water quality testing
  • Environmental and water treatment analysis
  • DIY multi-parameter water quality meters
Note: Keep the BNC connector and signal conversion board dry and clean to maintain input impedance accuracy. Mount the board on nylon standoffs (included) rather than placing it directly on wet or conductive surfaces. Do not leave the probe connected to the board without power for extended periods. Handle the glass sensing tip with care — scratches or damage will cause the electrode to fail.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

BNC connector
A twist-lock connector commonly used for probes, test equipment, and shielded signal cables. For pH and conductivity sensors, a BNC connector makes it easier to attach or replace electrodes without soldering.
Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
pH
A measure of how acidic or alkaline a liquid is, on a scale where 7 is neutral. For a water monitoring kit, pH tells you about water chemistry and whether the included probe matches the range and accuracy your project needs.
