The MQ-137 is an ammonia (NH3) gas sensor from Winsen, designed to detect ammonia concentrations in the air. The sensing element is tin dioxide (SnO2), which has lower conductivity in clean air and increases in conductivity as ammonia gas concentration rises.

A simple voltage divider circuit can convert the sensor's change in conductivity into a measurable analog signal, though calibration is required for accurate readings. A gas sensor breakout board is recommended for easy soldering and connection.
