This kit turns a Raspberry Pi 3 into a network-wide ad blocker using Pi-hole, an open-source DNS sinkhole. Once set up, Pi-hole blocks advertisements and tracking domains for every device on your network — computers, tablets, phones — without requiring ad-blocker plugins on individual devices.
The included 2.8" PiTFT touchscreen display lets you monitor Pi-hole statistics at a glance, including the number of blocked ads and top offending domains. No soldering required — everything connects via the GPIO header.
Key Features
- Network-Wide Ad Blocking – Blocks ads on all devices connected to your network
- 2.8" TFT Display – Monitor Pi-hole statistics in real time
- No Soldering Required – Fully assembled display, plug-and-play setup
- Undetectable – Works at the DNS level, so ad-blocker detectors cannot identify it
- Works on All Devices – Phones, tablets, smart TVs, and computers

Resources
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- GPIO
- General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
- microSD card
- A microSD card is a small removable memory card used to store files such as audio tracks. For this product, the card is where the sound files live, so its capacity and formatting can affect how many sounds you can use.
- TFT
- A thin-film transistor display is a common type of colour LCD used for graphics screens. Knowing a product is for TFTs helps you check that the driver board matches the display’s connector, resolution, backlight, and signalling method.
