A commercial-grade waterproof ultrasonic distance sensor with UART serial output. The A02YYUW features a much smaller blind zone (3 cm) and wider sensing angle than many comparable sensors, plus penetration through smog and dust for reliable outdoor use.

The closed separated-probe design is waterproof (IP67) and dustproof, making it well suited to harsh and moist environments. All signal processing is integrated inside the module — connect via UART at 9600 bps and read distance values directly.

Specifications

  • Operating Voltage – 3.3–5 V
  • Average Current – <8 mA
  • Blind Zone – 3 cm
  • Detection Range (Flat Object) – 3–450 cm
  • Output – UART (9600 bps)
  • Response Time – 100 ms
  • Sensing Angle – 60°
  • Waterproof Grade – IP67
  • Operating Temperature – -15 to 60°C
  • Storage Temperature – -25 to 80°C

Also Available

Ideal For

  • Reversing / parking distance sensors

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

IP67
An ingress protection rating meaning the enclosure is dust-tight and can survive temporary immersion in water under specified test conditions. This matters when choosing a sensor for outdoor, wet, or wash-down environments.
UART
UART is a simple asynchronous serial interface that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, usually labelled TX and RX, with both ends set to the same baud rate. It is a common way for microcontrollers and other serial devices to exchange data.
