A 5-megapixel camera module that connects directly to the Raspberry Pi's CSI camera port, freeing up USB ports for other peripherals. Based on the OmniVision OV5647 sensor, this module supports still images up to 2592 × 1944 pixels and video recording at multiple resolutions and frame rates.

Camera support is built into Raspbian (Raspberry Pi OS), so setup is straightforward — simply connect the ribbon cable to the CSI port and enable the camera in the system configuration.
