A miniature low-power brushed DC motor with a 29.86:1 metal gearbox, designed for robotics and compact mechanical projects. The 6V LP (Low Power) variant draws minimal current while delivering useful torque through the metal gear train.

The D-shaped output shaft is compatible with a wide range of Pololu wheels, brackets, and encoder boards designed for the micro metal gearmotor form factor.

Key Features

  • 29.86:1 Metal Gearbox – Durable metal gears for reliable, long-lasting operation
  • Low-Power Motor – Reduced current draw, ideal for battery-powered projects
  • D-Shaped Output Shaft – 3mm diameter, 9mm long, for secure wheel and hub attachment
  • Compact Form Factor – 10 × 12mm cross section fits standard micro metal gearmotor mounts

Specifications

  • Gear Ratio – 29.86:1
  • Operating Voltage – 6V
  • No-Load Speed – 450 RPM @ 6V
  • No-Load Current – 40 mA
  • Stall Torque – 0.29 kg·cm (4.0 oz·in)
  • Stall Current – 0.36 A
  • Output Shaft – D-shaped, 3mm diameter × 9mm long
  • Cross Section – 10 × 12mm

Ideal For

  • Small robotics platforms and line followers
  • Battery-powered motorised projects
  • Compact mechanical assemblies requiring geared DC drive

Package Contents

  • 1× 30:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor LP 6V

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

encoder
A device attached to a motor or shaft that reports movement, such as rotation steps or position. In a pump system, an encoder can help measure or control how much the motor has turned, which affects how repeatable the watering amount can be.
kg·cm
A torque unit often used for hobby servos, meaning how many kilograms of force the servo can hold at a 1 cm arm length. A higher kg·cm rating means the servo can move or hold heavier loads, but power supply current needs may also increase.
Stall torque
The maximum twisting force a servo can produce when its output is held still and cannot move. It helps you judge whether the servo is strong enough for a robot joint, steering linkage, or other load.
Torque
A twisting force that causes something to rotate, usually measured in newton-metres or kilogram-centimetres. It matters when choosing motors, servos, gears, and tools because higher torque is needed to lift heavier loads, turn larger wheels, or move mechanisms without stalling.
