This 2 mm pitch 10-pin socket mates with XBee radio modules from Digi, allowing you to mount your XBee without soldering it directly to a PCB. You'll need two of these sockets to connect to all 20 pins on an XBee module.
These sockets can also be trimmed to work with other 2 mm pitch applications such as RFID breakout boards.
Key Features
- 2 mm Pitch – Correct spacing for XBee module pins
- 10 Pins – Matches one side of the XBee footprint
- Removable Mounting – Swap XBee modules without desoldering
- Trimmable – Can be cut down for other 2 mm pitch applications
Ideal For
- Custom XBee breakout boards and adapters
- Prototyping with removable XBee modules
- RFID breakout boards and other 2 mm pitch connectors
Package Contents
- 1× 2 mm 10-pin socket
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
