A passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor from DFRobot's Gravity series. It detects infrared radiation from people and animals in motion and outputs a digital HIGH signal when movement is detected — ideal for security systems, occupancy sensing, and automated lighting projects.

The sensor operates at 3.3–5 V and uses DFRobot's Gravity 3-pin interface for plug-and-play connection to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. An onboard LED lights up when motion is detected.

Key Features

  • PIR Motion Detection – Detects human and animal movement via infrared
  • 7 m Detection Range – 100° detection angle
  • 3.3–5 V Operation – Compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V logic
  • Gravity Interface – PH2.0 3-pin connector for plug-and-play wiring
  • Low Power – 15 µA working current
  • LED Indicator – Lights when output is HIGH (motion detected)

Specifications

  • Input Voltage: 3.3–5 V (6 V max)
