Serial Telemetry Radio Kit - 915MHz, 500mW
Discontinued
The Serial Telemetry Radio Kit is a small, lightweight, and affordable open-source radio platform offering ranges of better than 300 m out of the box. Built on the popular Si1000 chipset with open-source SiK firmware, it provides a simple serial cable replacement — transmit telemetry, RTK correction data (RTCM), or basic serial output without any configuration required.
Both radios feature a Micro-B USB connector using the FT23x USB-to-serial IC, making it easy to pass serial data from a remote radio to a base computer or phone. The included JST-GH cables make connecting to TX/RX pins a literal snap.
Key Features
- 500 mW Transmit Power – Strong signal for extended range
- -117 dB RX Sensitivity – Reliable reception even at distance
- Full Duplex Serial Link – Transparent 57,600 baud serial connection
- 915 MHz Frequency – Suitable for Australian and US use
- Micro-B USB & UART – Dual connectivity options on each module
- AT Command Configuration – Simple setup via standard AT commands
- Open-Source Firmware – Based on the well-supported SiK project
Getting Started
Cut one of the provided JST-GH cables in half and tin the ends for insertion into Arduino headers, or solder the connections to your remote unit (rover, weather station, Arduino, etc.). Plug the other module into the USB port on your base station, computer, or phone.
