The RFM95CW is an SX1276-based LoRa radio module operating on the 915 MHz ISM band (also tuneable to 868 MHz). LoRa modulation enables long-range wireless communication — typically up to 2 km line-of-sight with simple wire antennas, and potentially 20 km or more with directional antennas and optimised settings.

This is the bare radio module only, designed to be soldered directly onto a PCB. It communicates via SPI and has ready-to-use Arduino libraries available. No pairing or association is needed — simply send data, and any module on the same frequency with the same encryption key will receive it.

Key Features

  • SX1276 LoRa Transceiver – Long-range packet radio with error correction and auto-retransmit
  • 915 MHz ISM Band – Licence-free in Australia, also tuneable to 868 MHz for European use
  • +5 to +20 dBm Output – Up to 100 mW transmit power, software selectable
  • SPI Interface – Standard 4-wire SPI for microcontroller integration
  • Low Power – ~100 mA peak at +20 dBm transmit, ~30 mA during active listening
  • ~2 km Range – Line-of-sight with simple wire antenna; longer with directional antennas
  • Arduino Libraries – Ready-to-go packet radio libraries for fast prototyping

Ideal For

  • Sensor node networks and remote data collection
  • Campus or town-scale wireless links
  • LoRa and LoRaWAN IoT projects
  • Point-to-point long-range communication

Package Contents

  • 1× RFM95CW 915 MHz LoRa Module (bare module only)
Note: This is the bare radio module — no power supply, level shifter, headers, or antenna are included. It must be soldered to a PCB. Radios can only communicate with other radios of the same type and frequency band.
