Raspberry Pi Prototyping Shield
A prototyping shield for the Raspberry Pi that stacks directly onto the GPIO header using dual headers on the underside. The board features a large prototyping area split between breadboard-style tracks (with horizontal and vertical rails) and perfboard-style copper pads for DIP chips and through-hole components.
All GPIO, I2C, SPI, and power pins are broken out to 0.1" (2.54 mm) header strips along the edges, with labelled 3.5 mm screw-terminal blocks for semi-permanent wiring. An additional 4-block terminal is available for general non-GPIO connections. SOIC and TSSOP surface-mount breakout areas are included for chips not available in DIP format.
Key Features
- Dual Prototyping Area – Half breadboard-style, half perfboard-style for flexible circuit building
- Full GPIO Breakout – All pins broken out to 0.1" headers and labelled 3.5 mm screw terminals
- SMD Breakout Areas – SOIC and TSSOP footprints for surface-mount components
- 4-Block Terminal – Additional screw terminals for general wiring
- Power LED Indicator – Visual confirmation of power status
- Compatible EEPROM – AT24C08BN-SP25-T
