The official Raspberry Pi PoE (Power over Ethernet) HAT lets you power your Raspberry Pi directly through an Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. It requires a network with 802.3af-compliant power-sourcing equipment.

The HAT includes a small cooling fan controlled via I2C that automatically activates based on the processor temperature. No modifications to the Raspberry Pi board are needed — just ensure your Pi's software is up to date for full functionality.

Key Features

  • Power over Ethernet – Powers your Pi through the Ethernet cable (802.3af compliant)
  • Automatic Cooling Fan – I2C-controlled fan activates based on CPU temperature
  • No Modifications Required – Plugs directly onto the Pi's PoE header pins
  • Clean Setup – Eliminates the need for a separate power cable

Ideal For

  • Headless Pi deployments and server clusters
  • Network closet and rack-mounted installations
  • Remote or hard-to-reach locations where running a separate power cable is impractical
  • Clean single-cable setups for Pi-based projects
Important: This PoE HAT is only compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. Other Raspberry Pi models do not have the PoE header pins required for this HAT.
