The Raspberry Pi Camera Module V2 is an 8-megapixel camera board built around the Sony IMX219 image sensor. It connects to any Raspberry Pi via the dedicated CSI camera interface using a short ribbon cable, providing high-quality still photos and video without taking up USB ports.
The tiny board (25 × 23 × 9 mm) weighs just over 3 g, making it ideal for drones, robots, security cameras, and any project where size and weight matter. Full software support is included in Raspberry Pi OS.
