Qwiic GPIO

Qwiic GPIO

Discontinued

The Qwiic GPIO adds four additional digital I/O pins to your project over I2C. Simply plug it into your Qwiic ecosystem and read or write the pins just like any other digital GPIO — the I2C details are handled for you with functions similar to Arduino's pinMode and digitalWrite.

This version features easy-to-use latch terminals — no screwing wires into place. The terminals are roomy enough to latch multiple wires into the ground or power terminal. Three customisable address jumpers allow up to eight boards on a single I2C bus for up to 32 additional GPIO pins.

Key Features

  • 4 Additional GPIO Pins – Read and write digital pins over I2C
  • Latch Terminals – Tool-free wire connections, no screwdriver needed
  • Qwiic / I2C Interface – Plug-and-play with no voltage translation required
  • Stackable – Up to 8 boards on one bus (32 GPIO pins) via address jumpers
  • Default I2C Address – 0x27 (configurable via solder jumpers)
  • Power LED – Red indicator for connection status

Ideal For

  • Expanding GPIO on pin-limited microcontrollers
  • Qwiic ecosystem projects needing extra digital I/O
  • Prototyping with multiple sensors and actuators
