A 1kg straight bar load cell (strain gauge) that converts applied force into a measurable electrical signal. Made from aluminium alloy with four strain gauges in a Wheatstone bridge configuration, this sensor is ideal for measuring weight, detecting objects, or monitoring force changes over time.
Pair with a load cell amplifier (such as the HX711) to read precise weight measurements from a microcontroller.
Key Features
- 1kg Capacity – Measures force up to 1kg
- Wheatstone Bridge – Four strain gauges for accurate differential measurement
- Aluminium Alloy – Durable straight bar construction
Wiring Colour Code
- Red: E+ (Excitation positive)
- Black: E− (Excitation negative)
- Green: O+ (Output positive)
- White: O− (Output negative)
Ideal For
- DIY scales and weighing systems
- Object presence detection
- Force measurement experiments
- Arduino and microcontroller projects
Package Contents
- 1× 1kg Straight Bar Load Cell
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- microcontroller
- A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip that runs a stored program and controls connected inputs and outputs such as buttons, sensors, displays and communication interfaces. In a device built around one, it is the part that executes the code and coordinates the device's behaviour.
- Strain gauge
- A strain gauge is a sensor element whose electrical resistance changes when it is stretched or compressed. It is commonly used to measure force, weight, pressure or bending, and because its resistance change is small it usually needs precise differential measurement electronics such as a high-resolution ADC.
