A 7-inch touchscreen display with 1024×600 resolution and a resistive touchscreen overlay, ideal for Raspberry Pi projects, embedded computing, and multimedia setups. The included driver board supports HDMI, VGA, and composite (NTSC/PAL) inputs, making it compatible with a wide range of devices.
The kit includes an AR1100-based resistive touch-to-USB controller that registers as a standard USB mouse — no special drivers required. The AR1100 includes calibration software (Windows only for calibration, but once calibrated the screen works on any OS). Tested successfully on macOS, Windows, and Debian Linux (including Raspbian on Raspberry Pi).
Key Features
- 7-Inch 1024×600 Display – Clear resolution for embedded projects and dashboards
- Resistive Touchscreen – USB HID mouse interface via AR1100 controller, no drivers needed
- Multi-Input Driver Board – HDMI, VGA, and composite (NTSC/PAL) inputs with auto-detection
- On-Screen Menu – Wired button PCB for adjusting brightness, colour, contrast, and input selection
- Broad Compatibility – Works with Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone Black, and any device with HDMI, VGA, or composite output
config.txt on the SD card to set the HDMI output to 1024×600 if the resolution isn't detected automatically. See the Adafruit HDMI uberguide for suggested settings.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- HDMI
- HDMI is a common digital video and audio connection used by computers, media players, and many displays. If a display kit has HDMI input, it is usually much easier to test with a single-board computer because it can act like a normal monitor.
- HID
- Human Interface Device is a USB device class used for keyboards, mice, gamepads and similar controls. If a board supports HID over USB, it can act like an input device to a computer without needing a custom driver.
- IPS
- IPS is a type of LCD panel that keeps colours and contrast more consistent when viewed from an angle. This matters for small displays that may be mounted in a dashboard, handheld project, or enclosure where the viewer is not always looking straight on.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
- TFT
- A thin-film transistor display is a common type of colour LCD used for graphics screens. Knowing a product is for TFTs helps you check that the driver board matches the display’s connector, resolution, backlight, and signalling method.
