The Flirc Jeff Probe is an open-source in-application debugging tool for embedded microprocessors. It connects to your target via JTAG or Serial Wire Debug (SWD) and to your computer via USB, letting you inspect and control the state of a running application using GDB.

Based on the open-source Black Magic Probe firmware, the Jeff Probe provides a self-contained debug solution without requiring additional server software — GDB connects directly to the probe.

Key Features

  • JTAG and SWD Support – Debug ARM Cortex-M and other supported microprocessors
  • USB Interface – Connects to host computer via standard USB
  • GDB Compatible – Direct connection from GDB with no intermediate server required
  • Open Source – Based on the Black Magic Probe firmware
  • In-Application Debugging – Set breakpoints, inspect registers, and step through code on running hardware
