INTRODUCTION

This is an Arduino compatible fingerprint module. With the high speed DSP processor, it could also work with other serial device, like MSP430, 51, AVR, PIC, STM32, ARM and FPGA device. This fingerprint module could work alone without any principal computer or any PC software. It could store 1000 fingerprint. Support fingerprint entry, intelligent image processing, fingerprint comparison and fingerprint search mode. It also has a high sensitivity to both wet and dry fingerprint recognition. This module could be widely used in security field, such as license management .etc. It can also be used to replace the IC card, password, hardware switch in your application.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

AVR
AVR is a family of 8-bit microcontrollers (made by Microchip, formerly Atmel) used in many classic Arduino-style boards such as the Uno and Nano. They are widely supported but older, which can be a limit for memory- or speed-intensive tasks.
baud
Baud is the signalling rate of a serial connection, often used as the speed setting for UART communication. Matching the baud rate matters because both connected devices must use the same setting for readable data.
DC
DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
DSP
Digital signal processing means using software or hardware to analyse or modify signals such as audio, vibration, or sensor readings. A board suited to DSP is useful when a project needs fast maths for filtering, synthesis, or real-time signal analysis.
STM32
STM32 is a family of microcontroller chips commonly used in embedded electronics. Knowing a product uses an STM32 can help when looking at firmware updates, pin connections, or low-level serial control options.
UART
UART is a simple asynchronous serial interface that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, usually labelled TX and RX, with both ends set to the same baud rate. It is a common way for microcontrollers and other serial devices to exchange data.
