BBC Doctor Who HiFive Inventor Kit (Coding Kit)
Discontinued
The BBC Doctor Who HiFive Inventor Kit is a hand-shaped mini-computer designed to teach kids coding and electronics through 20 Doctor Who-themed projects. Narrated by Jodie Whittaker (the Thirteenth Doctor), students navigate lessons like piloting an alien spaceship, building an intergalactic weather station, controlling a robot, and inventing alien musical instruments.
Based on the HiFive Learn Inventor board with an ESP32-SOLO-1 and the open-source RISC-V instruction set architecture, this kit features built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for IoT connectivity. A partnership between the BBC, Tynker, and SiFive, it uses the award-winning Tynker creative coding platform for a self-paced, learner-driven experience.
