Artemis Global Tracker

Discontinued

The Artemis Global Tracker (AGT) combines an Arduino-compatible Artemis processor, Iridium 9603N satellite modem, u-blox ZOE-M8Q GNSS receiver, and a TE MS8607 environmental sensor into a single compact board. With a clear view of the sky, it can send and receive short data messages from anywhere on Earth — including polar regions far beyond the reach of Wi-Fi and cellular networks.

Fully configurable via USB-C or remotely via Iridium messages, the AGT supports geofencing alerts, environmental alarm thresholds, and remote equipment control. Multiple power options include USB-C, LiPo battery (with built-in charger), external battery packs, or even small solar panels with supercapacitors.

Key Features

  • Artemis Module – Arduino-compatible, 48 MHz (96 MHz turbo), 1 MB flash, 384 KB RAM, Bluetooth
  • Iridium 9603N Modem – Global satellite short burst data (SBD) messaging
  • u-blox ZOE-M8Q GNSS – Fast, accurate positioning with low current draw
  • MS8607 PHT Sensor – Pressure, humidity, and temperature (operates down to −40°C and 10 mbar)
  • Geofencing – Up to 4 geofenced areas with automatic alerts
  • Remote Configuration – Change settings via USB-C or Iridium message
  • Qwiic Connector – Add external I²C sensors and relays
  • Breakout Pins – I²C and SPI broken out for displays, keypads, and custom peripherals
  • Flexible Power – USB-C, LiPo (charger included), external battery, or solar panel
  • Shared Antenna – GNSS and Iridium share a single antenna to save weight

Ideal For

  • Remote environmental monitoring (mountains, oceans, polar regions)
  • Asset and wildlife tracking
  • High-altitude balloon telemetry
  • Remote equipment control and alerts
  • Emergency communication where cellular networks are unavailable
  • Geofenced security and movement alerts

Package Contents

  • 1× Artemis Global Tracker Board
Iridium Airtime Required: The Iridium modem requires a monthly rental service (~£12 GBP / ~$15 USD per month, no annual contract). Airtime must be purchased from Rock Seven via the RockBLOCK management portal. Using another airtime provider requires a $60 USD unlock fee per modem.
Note: This is a SparkX experimental product. It is tested but comes without guarantees or live technical support.
