The Waveshare Pico-DVI-LCD is a 7" IPS display module designed for the Raspberry Pi Pico. Featuring 1024×600 resolution and a 170° viewing angle, it connects via DVI interface for high-speed communication and includes an onboard 40-pin header for direct Pico attachment.

The module comes with Raspberry Pi Pico C/C++ demos and development resources. A built-in OSD menu allows brightness and contrast adjustments without additional software.

Key Features

  • 7" IPS Panel – 1024×600 resolution with 170° wide viewing angle
  • DVI Interface – High-speed digital video communication
  • Pico-Compatible Header – Onboard 40-pin female header for direct attachment to Raspberry Pi Pico or Pico WH
  • RP2040-Plus Compatible – Also works with RP2040-Plus boards
  • Built-In OSD Menu – Adjust brightness and contrast directly on the display
  • C/C++ Development Resources – Includes demo code and online documentation
Note: Due to the memory limitation of the RP2040, maximum picture resolution is 400×240 when using RGB565 colour format. Raspberry Pi Pico and RP2040-Plus boards are not included.

Ideal For

  • Raspberry Pi Pico display projects
  • Digital signage and advertisement displays
  • Embedded GUI applications
  • RP2040-based prototyping

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

IPS
IPS is a type of LCD panel that keeps colours and contrast more consistent when viewed from an angle. This matters for small displays that may be mounted in a dashboard, handheld project, or enclosure where the viewer is not always looking straight on.
LCD
LCD stands for liquid crystal display, a screen technology that uses a backlight and liquid crystals to show images or text. It matters because LCD modules usually need a display driver and enough controller pins or a bus interface to send image data.
RP2040
The RP2040 is a dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontroller chip from Raspberry Pi, used on many maker boards and offering programmable I/O, multiple GPIO pins and reasonable processing speed. Code and accessories built for that chip should work where RP2040 compatibility is listed, though demanding tasks such as reading a camera can require careful pin allocation and timing.
