Raspberry Pi Carbon Removal Credit
Make a Difference with Your Pi
Raspberry Pi has teamed up with UNDO to tackle climate change head-on. By supporting enhanced rock weathering, we’re helping permanently remove CO2 from the atmosphere while improving soil health. Just one carbon removal credit offsets the entire lifecycle emissions of a Raspberry Pi board.
How It Works
UNDO's enhanced rock weathering process is brilliantly simple:
- Crush silicate rocks into fine powder.
- Spread it on farmland, where it starts removing CO2 immediately.
- CO2 is captured as the rock reacts, while enriching soil with nutrients.
This method is scalable, sustainable, and has the potential to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 each year.
Raspberry Pi's Role
We’re committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Here’s what we’re doing:
- Offsetting 6.5 kg of CO2 per single board computer.
- Supporting UNDO’s mission to permanently remove 1 billion tonnes of CO2.
- Backing innovative climate solutions that scale with global needs.
What’s Cool
- Permanent Carbon Removal: Not just offsetting—UNDO’s method locks carbon away for good.
- Nature Meets Tech: Using Earth's most abundant material, silicate rocks, for an innovative solution.
- Dual Benefit: Captures CO2 while boosting soil health for better crops and ecosystems.
