Are you an educator wanting to teach the Rasperry Pi but don’t know where to start? If the answer is ‘Yes’, then the Raspberry Pi Workshop is for you.

Who Should Attended? Anyone with an interest in learning how to implement 5 basic Raspberry Pi projects into the classroom for STEM based learning. No previous programming of electronics experience is needed.

What will you learn?

Using Scratch the program the Raspberry Pi 

• 5 Raspberry Pi projects for STEM based learning.

• Safe-handling of the Raspberry Pi • Understanding the Raspberry Pi family

• Knowing what equipment you need to make Raspberry Pi a success in the classroom

• Using the Raspberry Pi operating system, Raspbian

• Using sound with the Raspberry Pi

• Connecting the Raspberry Pi to simple electronics

• Writing a simple program to control

What will you take away? Raspberry Pi “STEM Kit” (valued at $135), including:

• Raspberry Pi Board

• 8GB Flash SD Card, Breadboard (a.k.a. protoboard)

• Raspberry Pi Breakout Board and cable • A collection of LEDs

• Temperature/humidity sensor • Photocell sensor • Momentary switch

• A collection of resistors, and

• A collection of connecting wires

What to bring? A laptop with Windows or Mac OS X (with USB ports) and administrator access.
