Advanced Arduino Workshop
You've asked for it, and we're delivering!
We're holding a (beta) Advanced Arduino Workshop at our new Little Bird Head Quarters.
This workshop is limited to 4 places.
WHERE IS THE WORKSHOP?:
- Sydney - 10/3 Hamley Road, Mt Kuring Gai, NSW 2080 (you'll need a car).
WHEN IS THE WORKSHOP?
- SYDNEY - 10.00am – 4:00pm, Saturday, 1st August 2015
WHAT'S IN THE WORKSHOP?
Our Arduino Workshop is an all day class running from 10am - 4.00pm.
The workshop will be a no-fluff get-your-hands-dirty workshop experience with Arduino!
Your instructor (Marcus Schappi) will be there to help with any of the questions you might have on Arduino.
Here's what we will cover in the course:
- Reading Sensors with the Arduino
- Controlling Actuators with the Arduino
- Networking the Arduino
- Soldering a prototype together
- Sending Data to the Web
- Building a web application that will allow you to save sensor data to a database
- Building a web application that will allow you to remotely control actuators
- How to host a web application in the cloud
- Basic source control with git
SO WHAT PARTS WILL I GET TO KEEP?
Yours to keep after class is an Advanced Arduino Workshop Kit. This includes the following items:
- Arduino Uno
- WiFi Module
- Prototyping Shield (and other gear)
- Various Sensors and Actuators to build a weather station
WHO CAN ATTEND?
This class is designed for computing and software enthusiasts who have used Arduino before. If you've purchased from Little Bird Electronics before, and have gotten past basic Arduino tutorials, you're almost certainly the right fit. You will need to know how to program, the Arduino but no other language (you'll learn some ruby on the day). The workshop should equip you with how to build an Internet of Things system with Arduino.
In addition to your workshop kit you will also need to bring:
- A laptop (with Wi-Fi) running Windows or Mac OS X. (IMPORTANT: You will need admin privileges on this machine!).
- Arduino should be installed on this machine.
- Your laptop's power supply.
- Food (pizza, decent beer and caffeinated beverages) will be provided on the day.
The Advanced Arduino Workshop appears in the following collections:
