Pycom LoPy4 - WiFi, BLE, LoRa, and Sigfox
With so many connectivity options, Pycom's LoPy4 is a lot like an amazing, multi-course brunch. You've got LoRa playing your favorite morning public access radio station, WiFi talking to your smart coffee maker, SigFox and cream cheese on a bagel, and a baker's dozen of Bluetooth muffins-- I mean, blueberry muffins!
Boosted with the Espressif ESP32 chipset, the LoPy is one of the fanciest quadruple-threat MicroPython-enabled microcontrollers. The wide choice of transports provides full flexibility during testing, install, deployment and even later when you want to switch how you send your data around. The LoPy4 has a built-in operating system that supports MicroPython, the lightweight cousin of the Python web programming language. You can use this board as is, or develop your application, then minimize the design with one of the smaller and simpler Pycom boards (if, say, you realize you don't need SigFox or LoRa)
Comes with just the dev board. You'll need an antenna for LoRa/SigFox, using LoRa/SigFox without an antenna can damage the board! An external antenna is recommended for WiFi/BLE (which has a ceramic antenna built in).
- 900 MHz Antenna Kit (LoRa and SigFox), you'll need 2 kits, one for each transport
- 2.4 GHz Antennas (for WiFi) - not required but will get you much better range than the built-in antenna
Features
- Powerful CPU, BLE and state of the art WiFi radio
- Can also double up as Nano LoRa gateway
- MicroPython enabled
- Fits in a standard breadboard (with headers)
- Ultra-low power usage
- LoPy4 includes 2 years of Sigfox connectivity.
Note: If you want to connect LoPy4 via USB to your computer, you will also need either the Expansion Board 2.0, Pysense or Pytrack.
