The AKARI Origami LED Lamp Shade Kit combines traditional Japanese origami with LED lighting. Fold origami paper into a square or polygonal lampshade, then illuminate it with colour-changing LEDs. Each of the three LED colours can be individually dimmed or set to auto-fade for a soft, ambient glow.
Designed through a collaboration between Japanese artist Hiroyuki Moriwaki and origami designer Miyuki Kawamura, this kit from Gakken offers a creative blend of art and electronics. The kit takes roughly two hours to build.
