This ZIF (zero insertion force) test socket lets you program and test SMT parts in TQFP-44 packages without soldering. Open the latch, place your chip carefully into the socket, and close the top — the IC is held securely against gold contact fingers for reliable connection.

The socket is soldered onto a pair of PCBs that convert it into a 44-pin DIP footprint with 15.24 mm (0.6″) row spacing, making it easy to use on a breadboard. Manufactured by Yamaichi.
