Setting up a Pi Zero can mean tracking down a few specific cables and a suitable power supply, so this kit bundles the essentials in one package. It is centred around the compact Raspberry Pi Zero W, a small single-board computer suited to embedded builds and Internet of Things projects.

The Pi Zero W keeps the familiar Raspberry Pi experience in a much smaller format, with wireless LAN and Bluetooth built in. Its mini connectors and unpopulated 40-pin GPIO let you keep the final build compact and only add the connections your project needs.

Inside the kit are the Pi Zero W, a Raspberry Pi Foundation performance-class 64GB microSD card, Mini HDMI and USB OTG cables, plus a USB Micro-B wall power adapter. Documentation resources from the supplier include a Getting Started Guide, graphical datasheet, Raspberry Pi software information, and Raspberry Pi Foundation resources.

Features:

  • Raspberry Pi Zero W included: compact Raspberry Pi board for embedded and IoT projects
  • Wireless connectivity: wireless LAN built in
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth(R) built in
  • Compact design: reduced-size board with mini connectors
  • GPIO flexibility: unpopulated 40-pin GPIO for adding only what your project requires
  • Storage included: 64GB MicroSD Card that meets performance metrics set by the Raspberry Pi Foundation
  • Video cable included: Mini HDMI cable included
  • USB adapter cable included: USB OTG cable included
  • Power supply included: wall adapter power supply included

Specifications:

  • Raspberry Pi Zero W: 1x
  • MicroSD Card: 1x 64 GB
  • Mini HDMI Cable: 1x -- 3'
  • USB OTG Cable: 1x -- Female A to Micro B -- 5"
  • Wall Adapter Power Supply: 1x -- 5.1VDC 2.5A (USB Micro-B)
  • Raspberry Pi Zero W length: 65mm long
  • Raspberry Pi Zero W width: 30mm wide
  • GPIO: unpopulated 40-pin GPIO

A handy starter bundle for Raspberry Pi Zero W projects where you want the board, storage, display adapter, USB OTG lead and power sorted from the start.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

GPIO
General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
HDMI
HDMI is a common digital video and audio connection used by computers, media players, and many displays. If a display kit has HDMI input, it is usually much easier to test with a single-board computer because it can act like a normal monitor.
IoT
Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
microSD card
A microSD card is a small removable memory card used to store files such as audio tracks. For this product, the card is where the sound files live, so its capacity and formatting can affect how many sounds you can use.
single-board computer
A complete computer built onto one circuit board, usually including the processor, memory, ports, and connectors. This matters because accessories like heatsinks must match the board’s layout and mounting holes to fit properly.
