The BME280 Atmospheric Sensor Breakout measures barometric pressure, relative humidity, and temperature from a single compact board. With both Qwiic (I2C) and 0.1″ header connections, it integrates easily into Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontroller projects — no soldering required when using the Qwiic connector.

The BME280 sensor measures atmospheric pressure from 30 kPa to 110 kPa and draws less than 1 mA, making it well suited for battery-powered weather stations and environmental monitors.

Key Features

  • Three-in-One Sensor – Barometric pressure, relative humidity, and temperature
  • Qwiic Connector – Plug-and-play I2C connection, no soldering needed
  • 0.1″ Header Breakout – Also supports breadboard and SPI wiring
  • 5V Tolerant I2C – Pull-up resistors to 3.3V included on-board
  • Low Power – Less than 1 mA current draw

Specifications

  • Sensor – Bosch BME280
  • Pressure Range – 30–110 kPa
  • Interfaces – I2C (Qwiic, 5V tolerant) and 3.3V SPI
  • Current Draw – <1 mA

Ideal For

  • Weather stations and environmental monitoring
  • Indoor/outdoor navigation and altitude estimation
  • Home automation systems
  • Personal health and wellness tracking

Package Contents

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

breakout
A breakout is a small circuit board that makes a tiny or hard-to-solder component easier to connect to with standard pins. It matters because this OLED module can be wired into a microcontroller project without needing to solder directly to the display’s fine contacts.
I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
Qwiic
Qwiic is a plug-in connector system for I2C devices that uses small 4-pin cables, so you can connect compatible sensors without soldering. It matters because your controller or adapter also needs Qwiic, or you will need a cable or breakout to wire it up.
SPI
A fast serial communication bus often used for displays, memory cards, and sensors. It matters because SPI devices need specific pins for clock and data, plus a separate chip-select line for each device.
