A thin, flexible membrane potentiometer that senses finger or stylus position along a 200 mm strip. Pressing anywhere on the strip varies resistance linearly from 100 Ω to 10 kΩ, providing accurate positional data for user interfaces, sliders, and control inputs.
The connector uses 2.54 mm (0.1") pin spacing and is breadboard-friendly, though the pins are slightly undersized for standard female headers. Adhesive backing is included for easy mounting to flat surfaces.
Key Features
- Active Length – 200 mm
- Resistance Range – 100 Ω to 10 kΩ (linear)
- Connector Pitch – 2.54 mm (0.1"), breadboard-compatible
- Mounting – Adhesive backing included
- Input Method – Finger or stylus
Ideal For
- Touch slider interfaces and volume controls
- Position sensing and CNC head positioning
- Multi-zone button input (mapping resistance to discrete zones)
- Interactive art and music projects
Package Contents
- 1× SoftPot 200 mm membrane potentiometer
Resources
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Headers
- Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
- potentiometer
- A variable resistor usually turned with a knob or shaft to create an adjustable electrical signal. It is often used for inputs such as volume, brightness or position, so it helps beginners learn how a microcontroller reads changing values.
