This SmartiPi Touch Pro 3 enclosure is designed for the Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2, giving your touchscreen project a tidy, mountable case with room inside for extra hardware. It is compatible with Raspberry Pi 3, 4 and 5 boards.

This version includes the Small 25mm deep cover. SmartiPi also offers a larger 45mm deep cover for builds that need more internal space, such as HAT boards or custom components. A dedicated area beneath the display can also be used to mount a Raspberry Pi camera.

Once assembled, the case keeps the USB and Ethernet ports accessible from the side, with HDMI and audio access at the back. For Raspberry Pi 5 users, the built-in side switch can provide convenient power control, depending on operating system support.

Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 are not included. A cooling fan is not included, but can be added separately if required.

Specifications:

  • Back cover sizes: Two back cover sizes available
  • Cooling fan: Cooling fan is not included
  • Display power: The Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 is powered by the Raspberry Pi GPIO ( extended GPIO pins are required if using a HAT )
  • Port access: The power, HDMI, and audio jack on the Raspberry Pi are accessible on the back of the case
  • Removable panel: A removable panel near the Raspberry Pi ports allows the flexibility of accessing HAT boards and connectors
  • Micro SD access: An included micro SD extender allows access to the micro SD card at the top of the case
  • VESA mount: 75mm VESA mount points on the back of the case
  • Base: Weighted base

  • Display adjustment: Tilting display
  • Raspberry Pi 5 power control: Side button to actuate the on/off microswitch on Raspberry Pi 5

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

GPIO
General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
HDMI
HDMI is a common digital video and audio connection used by computers, media players, and many displays. If a display kit has HDMI input, it is usually much easier to test with a single-board computer because it can act like a normal monitor.
