This sewable CR2032 battery holder makes it easy to add power to wearable electronics projects. Two small 1mm holes in the metal connection tabs are perfectly sized for a #5 or smaller needle to pass through, so you can stitch it directly onto fabric with conductive thread.

One tab connects to ground (negative) and the other to +3V (positive). The holder accepts standard CR2032 lithium coin cells (20mm diameter, 3.2mm thick), which provide approximately 200+ mAh at 3V. Batteries snap in securely and push out easily for replacement.

Key Features

  • Sewable Design – 1mm holes in tabs fit a #5 or smaller needle for stitching onto fabric
  • Secure Snap Fit – Coin cell snaps in firmly and pops out with a push
  • Flat Back – Smooth plastic base can be glued for extra mechanical stability
  • CR2032 Compatible – Fits standard 20mm × 3.2mm lithium coin cells (3V)

Ideal For

  • Wearable electronics and e-textiles
  • LED jewellery and costume projects
  • Sewable circuits with conductive thread
  • Compact, lightweight battery mounting

Package Contents

  • 1× Sewable CR2032 Battery Holder (battery not included)
Warning: Button cell batteries are hazardous (new or used). Keep away from children. Button cell batteries can cause severe or fatal injuries in 2 hours or less if swallowed or placed inside any part of the body. If you suspect a child has swallowed or inserted a button cell battery, call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre in Australia on 13 11 26, in New Zealand on 0800 764 766, or contact your country's emergency department immediately.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

conductive thread
Thread made with metal or other conductive fibres so it can carry electricity while being sewn into fabric. It matters for wearable and textile projects because it can replace wire, but it has more resistance than normal hookup wire.
e-textiles
Electronic textiles are fabrics or clothing that include electrical parts such as conductive thread, sensors, LEDs, or small controllers. This matters because parts for e-textiles need to survive bending, sewing, and sometimes washing.
LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
Thread
A low-power wireless mesh networking standard designed for smart home and IoT devices. It matters because Thread devices can relay messages through each other, helping build reliable networks for sensors and controllers.
