The RP-C7.6-ST is a circular flexible thin-film pressure sensor with a compact 7.6 mm active area and ultra-thin 0.3 mm profile. It converts applied force into a variable resistance — output resistance decreases as pressure increases — making it straightforward to read with any microcontroller's analogue input.

With a trigger force of just 30 g and a measurement range up to 1.5 kg, this sensor responds in under 10 ms and is rated for over one million actuations. The wide −40 °C to +85 °C operating range suits both indoor and outdoor applications.

Specifications

  • Active Area – 7.6 mm diameter (circular)
  • Thickness – 0.3 mm
  • Trigger Force – 30 g (default resistance <200 kΩ)
  • Pressure Range – 30 g to 1.5 kg
  • Initial Resistance – >10 MΩ (no load)
  • Response Time – <10 ms
  • Activation Time – <0.01 s
  • Hysteresis – ±10% at 1000 g
  • Drift – <5% under 1 kg static load over 24 hours
  • Measurement Type – Static and dynamic pressure (up to 10 Hz)
  • Operating Temperature – −40 °C to +85 °C
  • Lifespan – >1 million actuations
  • EMI/ESD – Does not generate
  • Connector – Short-leg solder tabs

Ideal For

  • Pressure-sensitive switches and touch interfaces
  • Bed and seat occupancy monitoring
  • Wearable force sensing (smart footwear, gloves)
  • Medical device pressure detection
  • Robotics grip and contact sensing

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip that runs a stored program and controls connected inputs and outputs such as buttons, sensors, displays and communication interfaces. In a device built around one, it is the part that executes the code and coordinates the device's behaviour.
