Pi GRRL Zero Parts Kit - Includes Pi Zero V1.3 [CASE NOT INCLUDED]

Discontinued

A parts kit for building the PiGRRL Zero — a portable handheld game emulation station powered by the Raspberry Pi Zero W. The kit includes the Pi Zero W, a PiTFT display, custom gamepad PCB, buttons, and electronics needed to assemble a DIY retro gaming handheld capable of running NES-complexity emulators.

This is a DIY project that requires 3D printing an enclosure, soldering, and Linux installation. The custom gamepad PCB dramatically reduces build time compared to earlier versions — just solder in the buttons and an IDC box header.

Key Features

  • Raspberry Pi Zero W Included – WiFi-enabled for easy software setup
  • Custom Gamepad PCB – Pre-designed board eliminates tedious button wiring
  • PiTFT Display – 2.2" 320×240 TFT screen
  • Retro Game Emulation – Runs MAME and NES emulators

Ideal For

  • DIY retro gaming handheld projects
  • Makers with soldering and 3D printing skills
  • Learning Linux and Raspberry Pi configuration
Note: Case, battery, wires, screws, and hand tools are not included. You will need to 3D print the enclosure and supply a 2000 mAh LiPo battery separately. This is a medium-difficulty project requiring soldering, 3D printing, and Linux installation skills.
Warning: Using a battery with incorrect polarity or chemistry can destroy the project.
