The MyoWare® 2.0 Arduino Shield is designed to easily connect up to six MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensors and Link Shields using 3.5mm TRS-to-TRS audio cables. The board comes pre-populated with male headers so all you would need to do is stack it on your Arduino and connect the sensors to read up to six muscle groups!
The Arduino shield form-factor mates directly with development boards that have the Arduino Uno R3 standard footprint. All six analog input pins (A0-A5) on the Arduino are reserved on this shield. Included on the back of the Arduino shield is a power jumper to select your output voltage to be 5V (default) or 3.3V for the muscle sensors. You'll need a MyoWare 2.0 Link Shield and TRS-to-TRS cable for each MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor.
Note: MyoWare and the Arduino Shield are not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation treatment, or prevention of disease, in a man or other animals.
The MyoWare® 2.0 ecosystem consists of shields that easily interface with the MyoWare® 2.0 Muscle Sensor, which is a low-cost, Arduino-compatible, all-in-one electromyography (EMG) sensor from Advancer Technologies. The innovative connector system allows users to easily snap shields together with a compact low profile and connect to a microcontroller's analog input to measure raw, filtered, and rectified electrical activity of a target muscle. This eliminates the need to solder connections between boards.
This product is a collaboration with Brian Kaminski from Advancer Technologies. A portion of each sales goes back to them for product support and continued development.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Headers
Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
Shield
An add-on board that plugs into a main controller board to give it extra features such as sensing, motor control or communication. Knowing a product supports shields helps you judge whether it can connect neatly into an existing maker-board setup.
