This large enclosed piezo element (30 mm diameter) converts vibration to voltage and voltage to vibration, making it useful both as a buzzer for generating tones and as a sensor for detecting knocks and impacts. The enclosed housing includes mounting holes for easy attachment to panels, enclosures, or drum pads.

Rated for up to 12 Vpp, it also works well with 3.3 V or 5 V square waves and is plenty loud for alert and notification applications. Pre-attached wires are suitable for breadboard use, though they may be too thin for direct insertion into Arduino socket headers.

Key Features

  • Dual Purpose – Use as a buzzer (output) or knock/vibration sensor (input)
  • Enclosed Housing – Protective case with mounting holes
  • 30 mm Diameter – Large element for strong output and sensitive detection
  • Pre-Wired – Thin leads attached, ready for breadboard connection
  • Wide Voltage Range – Rated up to 12 Vpp, works with 3.3 V and 5 V logic

Ideal For

  • Buzzers, alarms, and alert tones
  • Knock and tap detection sensors
  • DIY drum pads and musical instruments
  • Arduino and microcontroller projects

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Headers
Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
