A 3-pin right-angle JST PH series through-hole connector with 2mm pin spacing. These compact connectors provide a solid locking connection and are rated for moderate current, making them a reliable choice for PCB-mounted sensor and peripheral connections.
Commonly used to interface with Sharp infrared proximity sensors, serial LCDs, and other devices that use 3-pin JST PH cables. The right-angle orientation keeps cables running parallel to the PCB for a cleaner layout.
Key Features
- JST PH Series – 2mm pin pitch, industry-standard connector
- 3-Pin – Suitable for signal, power, and ground connections
- Right-Angle – Horizontal cable exit for low-profile PCB layouts
- Through-Hole – Solders directly to PCB pads
- Locking Connection – Secure snap-fit with matching JST PH cables
Ideal For
- Sharp IR proximity sensor connections
- Serial LCD and display interfaces
- Custom PCB designs needing compact connectors
- Sensor and peripheral breakout boards
Package Contents
- 1× JST PH 3-Pin Right-Angle Through-Hole Connector
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- JST PH
- A small keyed plug-and-socket connector with 2 mm pin spacing, often used for low-power electronics connections. You need the correct JST PH cable, and its current rating limits how much power should be passed through it.
- LCD
- LCD stands for liquid crystal display, a screen technology that uses a backlight and liquid crystals to show images or text. It matters because LCD modules usually need a display driver and enough controller pins or a bus interface to send image data.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
- pH
- A measure of how acidic or alkaline a liquid is, on a scale where 7 is neutral. For a water monitoring kit, pH tells you about water chemistry and whether the included probe matches the range and accuracy your project needs.
- Proximity sensor
- A sensor that detects the presence of a nearby object without physical contact, using methods such as infrared, ultrasonic, capacitive, inductive or time-of-flight. Useful ranges vary widely between types, from a few millimetres to several metres, so check a given sensor's specified range to see whether it suits close-up touch-free triggers or longer-distance detection.
- through-hole
- A mounting style where the component leads pass through holes in a circuit board and are soldered on the other side. Through-hole parts are often easier to handle and solder by hand, which is useful for classroom and hobby projects.
