Measure temperature and relative humidity with this simple, Arduino-compatible sensor module based on the DHT22. With just three connections (GND, power, and data), you can read both temperature and humidity from a single I/O pin on your microcontroller. An Arduino library is available to make integration quick and easy.

The module includes mounting holes for M3 or 1/8" bolts and a flat rear face, so it can be easily bolted or glued into your enclosure. Designed and made in Australia by Freetronics.

Key Features

  • DHT22 Sensor – Reliable combined temperature and humidity measurement
  • Simple 3-Wire Interface – GND, power, and a single data line
  • Wide Voltage Range – 3–5 V operation for flexible integration
  • Low Power – Just 4.3 mA during reads, even less when idle
  • Blue Power LED – Visual indicator that the module is powered
  • Mounting Holes – M3/1/8" bolt compatible for secure installation

Specifications

  • Temperature Range: −40 °C to +80 °C (±0.5 °C accuracy)
  • Humidity Range: 0–100% RH (2–5% accuracy)
  • Sample Rate: 0.5 Hz (one reading every 2 seconds)
  • Operating Voltage: 3–5 V DC
  • Current Draw: 4.3 mA (reading), less when idle
  • Dimensions: 31 × 23 × 4 mm

Ideal For

  • Weather stations and environmental monitoring
  • Arduino and microcontroller projects requiring climate data
  • Greenhouse and terrarium automation
  • Indoor air quality monitoring

Package Contents

  • 1× Humidity and Temperature Sensor Module (DHT22-based)

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
