This industrial Gravity kit measures electrical conductivity in aqueous solutions, helping you evaluate water quality by tracking dissolved content or salinity. It is suited to hydroponics, aquaculture and environmental water monitoring where long-running measurements are needed.

The pro probe is designed for 24/7 conductivity monitoring and includes an integrated PT1000 platinum resistance thermometer for temperature-compensated measurements. The signal is hardware filtered for low jitter, and the AC excitation source helps reduce polarisation effects to improve precision and extend probe life.

It works from a 3.3–5V supply, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V controller boards such as Arduino. The kit is plug-and-play with no soldering required, and the supported library includes a calibration program. In the box you get an electrical conductivity probe x1, electrical conductivity signal conversion board (industrial grade) x1, PT1000 RTD signal conversion board x1, Gravity sensor cable x2, waterproof joint x1, waterproof aviation connector x1, electrical conductivity calibration standard solution 1413µs/cm x4, and nylon pillar screws kit x1.

Features:

  • Easier to measure the compensated temperature data
  • Plug-and-play, no solder required

Specifications:

  • Supply Voltage: 3.3-5.0V
  • Output Signal: 0-3V
  • Probe Type: Industrial Grade
  • Cell Constant: K=1
  • Temperature Detector: PT1000 platinum resistance thermometer
  • Maximum Range: 1-2200μs/cm
  • Practical Range: 100-2000μs/cm
  • Operating Temperature: 0-50℃ (non-freezing)
  • Pressure Resistant: 0.5MPa
  • Waterproof Level: IP68
  • Cable Length: 5m

A practical choice for building an Arduino-compatible electrical conductivity meter or a multi-parameter water quality tester using the DFRobot Gravity sensor ecosystem.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

AC excitation
AC excitation means the probe is driven with an alternating electrical signal rather than a steady DC signal. This matters for conductivity probes because it helps reduce electrode polarisation, improving measurement stability and probe life.
cell constant
The cell constant describes the geometry of a conductivity probe and is used to convert the electrical measurement into a conductivity value. A K=1 probe is suited to common water-quality ranges, so it helps you judge whether the probe matches the conductivity levels you expect to measure.
Gravity
Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
PT1000
A PT1000 is a platinum temperature sensor whose resistance is 1000 ohms at 0°C. In this kit it lets the meter measure temperature so conductivity readings can be compensated, which matters because conductivity changes with temperature.
RTD
An RTD, or resistance temperature detector, is a temperature sensor that changes resistance in a predictable way as it heats or cools. It is useful in water-quality probes because accurate temperature measurement helps correct conductivity readings.
