Note: Gravity: BLE sensor beacons need to be configured using the 3.3V USB-TTL tool.
This Gravity wireless BLE Sensor Beacon with built-in 11-bit ADC is capable of collecting data from digital and analog sensors and broadcasting via Bluetooth. And users can access the sensor data within broadcasting range on a Bluetooth-equipped device like a smartphone, ESP32, etc.
Integrated with low-power BLE 5.3 technology, the BLE sensor beacon supports both LE and private-protocol broadcasting, and its data format works well with iBeacon, Eddystone, and other mainstream protocols. Besides, users can configure data format, broadcast content, and time intervals on a graphical interface as per their needs.
After configuration, it will run as a Bluetooth beacon when powered on, and collect and broadcast data automatically according to the settings. These sensor beacons can be used IoT sensor nodes for data collection in many scenarios such as smart farms, offices, factories, and warehouses.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- ADC
- An analogue-to-digital converter reads a changing voltage and turns it into a number the microcontroller can use. It matters when connecting analogue sensors such as light, sound, or variable-resistor sensors.
- BLE
- BLE stands for Bluetooth Low Energy, a Bluetooth mode designed for low power use and broad compatibility with modern phones and computers. It connects well to battery-powered and mobile devices, including Apple hardware, though it behaves differently from Bluetooth Classic and its serial-style profiles.
- Bluetooth beacon
- A Bluetooth beacon is a device that repeatedly broadcasts a small wireless signal so nearby phones, receivers, or gateways can detect its presence. It is useful for proximity, tracking, and simple location projects, but it is not the same as a full two-way Bluetooth data connection.
- DC
- DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
- Eddystone
- Eddystone is a Bluetooth beacon format originally defined by Google for broadcasting identifiers or small pieces of data. Support for Eddystone matters if your project needs to work with software or receivers that expect that beacon format.
- ESP32
- ESP32 is a family of low-cost microcontroller chips and modules from Espressif with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. They support programmable firmware and over-the-air updates, and are commonly programmed with toolchains such as the Arduino core and ESP-IDF.
- Gravity
- Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
- iBeacon
- iBeacon is Apple’s Bluetooth beacon format for broadcasting an identifier that nearby devices can recognise. Support for iBeacon matters when building proximity or location projects that need compatibility with apps or systems using that format.
- IoT
- Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
